The UECC will gladly assist any who desire to have a creation custom made for your church or clergy. We do ask for a kind donation of $25 or more to support our organization. This is a ‘gift in kind’ and not tax deductible.
The United Episcopal Catholic Communion is proud to post some simple examples of Ecclesiastical Heraldry (Crests) from our organization. Much of the Ecclesiastical Heraldry today does not follow the rules of normal heraldic design. Rather, these designs tend to lean more into the realm of family crests, with more flourishes.
The basic elements of design are under the menu Elements.
To assist in generating ideas, we have provided many examples under the menu Roman Template (also used by Anglican and Presbyterian Organizations) and under Samples 1-4 and 5-6. We also provided examples of mantles, mantling and charges.
For the most part we use stock elements rather than using expensive and time consuming drawing packages to create new graphics. With literally millions of public domain components, there is no reason not to take advantage of the wealth of heraldic graphics out there. It is not uncommon to pay a graphics artist $100 to $200 to complete all new design elements. The designs may be very simple, as their original intent was for armies to identify each other on the field of battle. Crests can also be very complex, as in a heraldic design of a family lineage. You may see the differences in the two graphics below.
